Graduate of 2017
Well... Let's start with the reason that led me to HEP. My wife was the one who told me to study and get my GED. She was the one who told me about HEP and the help they provide, and that is how I got into the program. Thanks to the support of my wife, my family, the person I worked for at the time, my desire to do it, and HEP, I managed to graduate.
My connection to farm work was also thanks to my wife. She worked for a family that had some vineyards and they gave me the opportunity to work and the support to get into HEP.
My experience obtaining my certificate let's say was something rare, rushed, fun, and rewarding. Thanks to the support of HEP and how fast I had to study (especially history) I managed to graduate in a very short amount of time.
The certificate has served me morally mainly because I was a little disappointed with myself for not having finished my studies. After the graduation, my morale went up, my opportunities increased, and it feels good to check off that I do have it in job applications.
What am I doing now? Well, I have a good job, I am a supervisor in a very good hotel with good opportunities to continue growing and I enjoy my family. I hope to return soon to continue with English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, I need those classes a lot.
